Croatia

Before too much time slips by I thought I would put in some pictures of our great trip to Croatia. It was the end of September and the weather was perfect. We enjoyed the warm days by the pool and, as you can see, the boys enjoyed walking around naked all day. You really couldn't keep the clothes on them.

This is the house we stayed in. It's Paddy's sisters and sleeps 7 or 8 people. For us it was really big as we are only 4, but would be fun to go back with family to experience.

This is one of many praying mantas' Krishna found. He was always fishing them out of the pool and felt quit proud of himself to be "saving their lives".

Here is the praying mantas by the pool about to make the "plung"....don't worry, Krishna was there to "save" it :)

This is a shot of the little town of Porec. It's about 15 minutes from where we stayed and is on the Mediterranian Sea or "the Med" as the locals call it.

Here is Eoghan and Krishna playing in "the Med" while we were in Porec for ice cream...yummm

Happy July...I can't believe how fast time goes. I've been busy redoing my website which was a nightmare for many reasons, so it had to be redone. The new website should be up tonight. The boys are getting older and we are still trying to adjust to Krishna being home all day. He has a football (soccer to you from the States) camp coming in a couple of weeks so that should at least keep him busy during the day. Let's see if I can put a photo in for you....This is Krishna with on of his volunteer teachers. He's from Belgium. A really nice guy.

Not much really newsworthy has been going on. Paddy has been spending time painting the house as it really needed it badly. We thought since we were having visitors this summer it would be a good time to do it. Let's see if I can find another photo...

I realized that we haven't taken any new photos in the last week or two. I will have to do that and put them up. But, by that time Alisha and Laura will be here, so maybe I'll just wait until they arrive. Ok...signing off for now

Geez (I like that word)

Geez, can't believe it's been over 1 month since the last time I posted anything to this. Time really flies. Welllllll, today is my birthday and I have to say not very eventful. We didn't do anything special, though we did go out to lunch at Captain America's (not recommended), and I did sign up to become a volunteer yoga instructor at the local YMCA. So I guess all wasn't lost. Other than those little things my day is quickly coming to a close and it really is just another day. I'm not complaining, but just observing. Ok, I will add a photo here....let me see if I can find one???.....This is a picture of Krishna and myself at one of Krishna's picnic's for his class. He has had two so far.

You know, I really struggle with this picture thing on this blog. I can't seem to get the picture to go where I want it to and the text to go where it should. They both seem to have a mind of their own and they don't listen to eachother.....so if this looks all jumbled please know that I tried ;)

Just realized all the new pics are still on the camera....let me see if I can find another one already on the computer....(I'm feeling a bit lazy).

Ok-don't know why, but can't get the stinking picture on here so will give up.

We are getting ready for Alisha and Laura to join us for the summer. We are really looking forward to that as it will expand the family and even out boys and girls in the house.....and will just be nice to get to know them better :)

Sorry for not posting anymore pics, but guess today is just for a quick update....Wow!! The second picture just showed up....glad it could join us. Let's see if it will go where I want it....Guess that's good enough. That is Paddy and Eoghan playing at the playground at one of Krishna's picnics. This is Krishna's last week of school and so the last two fridays have been picnic days at the park. They have been great fun and a great way to meet the other parents.
O'Reilly family signing off....

Out and About

We had a little family gathering for Paddy's neice's communion. It was another dress to the hilt day and so we all joined in (last communion lasted until wee hours of the morning). Needless to say I learned from the last communion and we did not drink or stay out so we were all feeling really good the next day. Here's a couple of photos of the boys dressed up.

Here is another pic of the two of them after we changed Krishna's top

Then we have Vishnu as the "Mad Chef "

And Krishna as the "Cool Dude"

Trim Castle

With the beginning of May came very nice weather. We took a weekend and decided to have a picnic along the Boyne river. We picked a place that has ruins of an old castle, monastry and abby. So we had lots to explore and walk around. It was a lovely day out.

This is the Trim castle that is along the Boyne river. This castle was used in the movie Braveheart. It had been used since the 1100's. It is now in ruins, but you can have a tour of the main building and walk around the grounds.

Here is a photo of us having our picnick.

I will post more in a couple of days.

March 2009

With Spring came some really nice weather. Paddy, Vishnu and I (Krishna was in school) took some time to go up to Hill of Tara (ancient monolithic site) to see it and to enjoy the beautiful day. We had a really nice walk around then went off to enjoy some food in their little cafe. The picture of the stone has ancient writings/drawings on it and in underneath the hill that Paddy is standing on.

The last picture of Vishnu is with him wearing Krishna's spiderman costume.

Thursday 5 March 2009

Krishna's 4th birthday was not too eventful. His birthday fell on a Monday so on the Saturday before we took him and his cousins to an indoor adventure center. Then we went to his cousins for cake. On Monday we had a little celebration at home where he got his gifts. We decorated the house with happy birthday banners and got him a little fort tent that we filled with balloons. He really enjoyed his day.

Check out these mummies from Le Lourve. I couldn't believe how well preserved they were. The egyptions mummified many many things including birds, crocodiles, dogs, cows heads and lots of cats. There were mummy casings of wood and marble and lots and lots of them. The third photo just shows some of them. The detail that went into the casings are amazing. They have artwork inside and out of these things.

This bottom photo is of the Eiffel tower all lite up at night. It twinkles with thousands of little lights during a certain time then it all goes black. I think this was taken about 11pm. Sorry for it being so blurry.

Paris. This was the best trip. It was quick, but we got to see a lot. We walked our feet off and I was so tired after the two days. Many things in Paris have gold. Gold gates, gold doors, gold statues, gold bridges, gold fountains. Though the Eiffel tower wasn't made of gold I was surprised at how big it actually was and how many people were there as tourists. Paris is the worlds most visited city. The sphinx is some of the pics of Le Lourve.

Here are some pictures of France (Paris). Most of these photos are from Le Lourve. The world famous museum. It is housed in the Kings Palace of Paris and is full of amazing things. The movie The Di Vinci Code was filmed here. You will notice the pyramid of which you see in the movie. Yes, we saw the Mona Lisa. She is behind glass and nobody can get too close to her. What made her famous was the fact that she was stollen from this museum in the 70's and had gone missing for 2-3 years. She was finally recovered and has since been in this spot.
As you can see, most of the statues are huge!! They are mostly from Rome. The fourth picture down was taken at Le Lourve and was part of Napoleons apartments. I had not known there were several Napoleons in Frances history.

Wednesday 18 February 2009

So here are some updated photos of the boys. The snow came at the end of last month so these are two weeks old, but they still look the same. All is going well here. Vishnu is walking all over the place and Krishna is growing taller. Both are very happy. Enjoy the photos and hopefully I don't take so long to put new photos up:)
